Kicking off from Yarra Glen just after 10:30 am, we headed off to Healesville via the Old Healesville Rd. Then Tim led us out of Healesville, around the back of the Sanctuary, onto Badger Creek Rd., and up the front side of Donna Buang via Don Road, a road pretty much devoid of traffic. We  visited his private off road parking area, the cause of the temporary demise of his ZX7R, incurred a week before on his preride. Then back to Healesville and off to Warburton via Launching Place.

Morning tea at the Warburton Bakery was interesting with our group and a half dozen other bikes all stopped for food and drink. Because this ride was a new format ‘short ride’, there was no real need to rush our stop.

Winding back down the mountain we headed off for greener pastures, namely the Reefton Spur. With Dave Moore and Dave Ward corner marking the Reefton turn-off I didn't want to be in their way when they left, so it was a matter of getting on the gas. The road was in near perfect condition with no debris or gravel of any consequence. It was grouse. A quick regroup at the Junction and then onto Marysville via Lake Mountain.

For some it was straight to Marysville, though I found the road up near the top of Lake Mountain in great condition and real fun.

Back to the Marysville Bakery for lunch and the official breakup. Good fun and an easy day. Congratulations to the Committee with regards the ‘Short Ride’ idea. I’m sure a lot
of members will enjoy this format.

Thanks Tim. A ride well led………………
