May 2000 MTCV Itinerary

Sunday 7th Loch, Gippsland Ben Warden leading

9.30 am KBCP, 10.15 am Hallam

Drouin for morning tea if you are chasing us, then east to Warragul and straight into the good stuff. Best roads in Victoria offering good visibility, great curves, and little traffic. Round trip of about 400 km. Dress warmly! Ride may not suit inexperienced riders.

Sunday 14th Heathcote Paul Tallents leading

9.30 am KBCP, 10.30 am Whittlesea

Head north in winter as migratory birds do. Over the Great Dividing Range the weather is more predictable and less moist. Paul will lead us on interesting and rarely travelled roads, with occasional views of Lake Eppalock, or what’s left of it. Expect around 350 km for the day.

Thursday 20th Social Sip, 7 pm Blackburn Hotel, 111 Whitehorse Road Blackburn

Get there early as it closes early! Good food, good company, 15 to 20 people.

Sunday 21st Dandenongs (short ride) Ron Johnston leading

10.30 am Yarra Glen

The first short ride for the month. Ron has been out exploring and found many local roads, no doubt none of us have been on before. Ron’s rides always provide plenty of material for a write-up. Witness the action and excitement at first hand. Expect around 250 km for the day. Note pickup point.

Sunday 28th Flowerdale Pub Counter Meal Ian Payne leading

9.30 am KBCP, 10.30 am Whittlesea, Lunch 1 pm

If you are travelling by car, join us for lunch at the Pub. The more the merrier! Riders will be rewarded with the usual great roads around about the eastern Hills. Expect around 300 km for the day.

Sunday 4th Lancefield Wayne Grant leading

9.30 am KBCP, 10.30 am Whittlesea

Come and join Wayne on a leisurely ride suitable for pillions. Roads more flowing and gentle rather than tight and twisty. Wayne always finishes sooner than later, so expect around 350 easy km for the day.

Sat. 10th Sandown Ride Day

Places filling fast so pay your money to any of the Committee as soon as possible to secure a place for yourself and friends. Should be excellent fun, and something different! Bikes must be roadworthy and registered. They will be scrutineered. Appropriate clothing highly desireable.
