April 2001 MTCV Itinerary

Sunday 8th Snake Valley (Ballarat area) Geoff Jones leading 9.30 am West Gate Shell Servo

Old gold mining country with lots of interesting roads you wouldn't believe existed. Geoff will find them. Expect around 400 km for the day and maybe Val will top it off with her legendary afternoon tea cake bakeoff. So now you have got two reasons to go on this ride.

Weekend Adelaide Hills via GOR Ben Warden leading

13th - 16th 9 am West Gate Shell servo

Fancy a trip down the Great Ocean Road where you just keep on going, and going - to Adelaide? First night Murray Bridge "The Balcony Motel". Luxurious for the money and nice people to boot. Day 2 spent heading south to Victor Harbour enjoying spectacular scenery and great roads. We'll spend Day 3 deep in the famous Adelaide Hills. Great smooth twisty roads. Plenty of stops, plenty of things to see. Day 4 home through the Coonawarra winery district and the Grampians. Easy trip.

Monday 16th Warragul via Noojee (short ride) Peter Doak leading

10.30 am Yarra Glen

Peter has seen the light, ditched the Harley and bought a real bike, a Suzuki GSXR1000. He is a lot happier now. All good roads. Expect around 210 km for the day with maybe a breakup at Yarra Junction.

Sunday 22nd Phillip Island World Superbikes

Meet AMCN Expo 1 pm each day

Sunday 22nd Kinglake (short ride) Ray Walker leading

10.30 am Whittlesea, 1 pm BBQ lunch, 56 Melba Ave Sunbury

Can't afford the dollars or the time to go to the Superbikes at Phillip Island? Go for a ride with Ray instead and finish the day watching the Supers on a big a screen TV while enjoying a BBQ. Bring your own drink. The Club will cough for the meat. What could be better? A blast around the hills followed by feet up in front of the TV watching the Aussies do the business. And no traffic hassles.

Wed. 25th Reefton Spur (short ride) Paul Tallents leading

10.30 am Yarra Glen

Anzac Day on a Wednesday! Bit hard to make a long weekend out of. A short blast across the Spurs is just what you need mid-week to make you feel alive again. Join Paul for a short ride. You'll still have time to mow the lawn and change the oil when you get home. Around 200 km.

Sun. 29th Lancefield Ben Warden leading

10.30 am Whittlesea

Good roads, regular stops, home at a reasonable time, 400 easy km, be there.

Thurs. 3rd Annual General Meeting, Election of Office Bearers

May 8.15 pm Club Hall

Come and have your say on how the Club is run and what direction it should be heading. Vote for who you want to be on the Committee, or better still, get on the Committee and share the workload. If you have the time and feel community spirited, being on the MTCV Committee is a worthwhile and enjoyable experience. Mark it on your calendar now. Supper, mag. and good company a bonus.

The Club only meets three times a year, so. Pick up a magazine and save the Club postage and share supper and good company. See the new bikes.
