Dave Moore crashed his 390 km old Yamaha R6 on the Black Spur on Saturday 20th of January. As he was still running it in and keeping below 5000 rpm he figured he was safe and didn't bother with armour. He has bruising to his right leg, hip, elbow and shoulder and is pretty sore. Dave is unclear what happened other than the rear came around on a left hand corner, gripped and high-sided him, the bike damaging the right hand side frame, fairings, tank, handle bar etc enough for a technical write-off. His new helmet was also destroyed. So Dave's in the market for a new bike (or good second hand) again. We wish him a full and speedy recovery and better luck in his future purchase(s).

Welcome to Mark Knight (RGV250) and Rick Brabin (ZZR250) who joined the Club during January. We wish them an enjoyable future with the Club and look forward to seeing them on many rides. Next time we see Mark he will probably be riding a TZR250.

The Mt Macedon ride to The Cross proved an epic ride. A new rider, part of a group Ray Walker met riding on the Kew Boulevarde, crashed his Suzuki TLR1000 after hitting the notorious mid corner pimple on the Strath Creek Road - at speed. The bike cleared the right hand lane before landing in a ditch. The rider was taken away in an ambulance with a suspected broken ankle and knee damage. It turned out to be ligament damage and he was released that night.

Also on the ride was an FJ1200 which suffered a series of electrical problems culminating in the bike being abandoned in the bushes for later retrieval. Read all about it in Dianne's article.

Andrew Napier has traded in his 90,000 km old CBR1100XX Blackbird on a new yellow Fireblade. That makes two of them! We'll have to compare notes at some stage.

Rob Matriccciani is selling some push bikes. He has a Cecil Walker 12 gear race bike ($100), an Apollo Everest mountain bike with dual suspension ($150) and a Giant hybrid racer ($400). Rob can be reached at home on 9729-4584.

Congratulations to Ken and Ann Wurster on the recent addition to their family, a baby girl and sister to Claire, weighing in at 9 lb 10 oz.... She arrived 7.10 am on 26/01/2001. All well. She has not been named yet. (I was informed of this happy event by proud father Hans, former President of the MTCV and still fanatical motorcycle rider, current bike a ZXR1200. Ed.)
