February 2002 MSTCV Itinerary

Sunday 10th     Lavers Hill via Great Ocean Road                                                      Ray Walker leading

9.30 am West Gate Bridge Shell Service Station

The usual back roads down to Lorne for morning tea, avoiding the now very heavily trafficked and policed section from Anglesea. Then onto Lavers Hill for a warming bowl of pumpkin soup and fuel. Back via Dean’s Marsh to disband at Lara. Great scenery, great roads, great company. This ride would not suit inexperienced riders. You will need a decent rear tyre as we expect around 500 km for the day.

Sunday 17th     Gembrook, 10.15 am Hallam (short ride)                                                    Ian Payne leading

Gembrook, Central Danenong Ranges. Could be an ideal ride location to avoid the heat of Melbourne. It is a short ride so bring your better half and let her get some enjoyment out of this expensive hobby of yours.

Ian knows all the good roads. Expect around 200 km for the day and you’ll be home early.

Sunday 24th     Marysville Big Bakery Biker Bash  (short ride)                                 Tim Walker leading             10.15 am Yarra Glen

The Marysville Country Bakery is providing live entertainment, specialty foods, and a trophy presentation. All the activities revolve around a motorcycle theme. See flier elsewhere in the magazine. Tim will lead us on a standard Club ride, probably incorporating the Reefton Spur, and maybe Mt Donna Buang, finishing up in Marysville where riders can enjoy the various displays and activities. Expect a hard charging 250 km or so. Make your own way home from Marysville.

March

Sunday 3rd      Willow Grove , 10.15 am Yarra Glen                                                  Rob Langer leading

Down the Powelltown good road to Noojee and on through the now fully sealed road to Willow Grove. I suspect we’ll end up in Gippsland - down through Trafalgar to Mirboo North, depending on the weather conditions. Expect 500 km for the day. Ride may not suit the inexperienced rider.
