October 2002              MSTCV Itinerary

Sunday 6th       Eildon                                                                                                    Rob Langer leading

                        10.15 am Yarra Glen

Rob has been out pre-riding this ride with Dave Ward on their BMWs during the week. What a life! The route is as follows: Christmas Hills, St Andrews Road, Toolangi, Myers Creek Road, up Don Road and keep going (3 km of dirt) down to Launching Place and Warburton for morning tea, if you are chasing the ride. Then around the Reefton to Marysville, Taggerty, Thornton and Eildon for late lunch. Breakup at Kinglake West via  Fraser National Park, Alexandra, Molesworth Road, Yea and Flowerdale Road. Not a bad road amongst this lot. Expect around 340 km of action packed riding. Be there.

Sunday 13th     Meredith Counter Lunch                                                                         Ian Payne leading

10.15 am West Gate Shell Servo

Out through Werribee, up to Exford and revisit Mt Wallace, the site of the Annual Hill Climb ride, for an unofficial practise run. Then south through the Brisbane Ranges to Anakie, around to Maude and Meredith for a counter lunch. Great motorcycle roads. Expect around 350 fun km for the day.

Sunday 20th     Yea (short ride), then Moto GP BBQ                                                      Di Welsford leading                        10.15 am Yarra Glen

1 pm Ray and Katrina Walkers home, 56 Melba Ave Sunbury

Here’s the route, as per Di’s email:  “Christmas Hills - Arthurs Creek - Whittlesea - Kinglake West - Flowerdale - Strath Creek - Broadford (break) - almost to Pyalong - then down through Lancefield, Romsey - Riddells Creek - Sunbury - Approx. 200 km. It took me 2 hours 50 mins on my pre-ride, may take a little longer on the day as I only refuelled at Broadford rather than a break, and I travelled a bit above the speed limit, so it really depends on who turns up on the day as to the time we take, but it should be close to right.” Free BBQ, $5 non-members. BYO alcohol.

Sunday 27th     Maldon Fire Tower                                                                               Geoff Jones leading
