Just a quick write up as l'm about to go overseas for work.

Lot's of new faces and bikes. Obviously, it’s been a while since my last Club ride!  I decided not to do the Reefton Spur due to the reports of snow.

We headed off over the Christmas Hills road to find ourselves riding amongst the Ulysses Club which caused confusion at our turnoff into Alma Road . (In fact the Ulysses rear rider took exception to the passing moves he’d seen and tried to make an issue of it with Rob Jones, corner marking, who wouldn’t have a bar of it. …Ed.) Half way up Alma Rd we had one casualty: Troy on the ZX9. He was okay, but the same couldn't be said about his bike. Tony was going home to grab his trailer and help him out.

We proceeded onto Panton Hill and St Andrews. At this stage it was wet with a light drizzle falling. Continuing onto Kinglake it started to rain. I corner marked at the roundabout and had a quick chat before heading off towards the Melba Highway. I decided to regroup here as we had a number of first time riders. I wanted to get everyone’s thoughts on the ride continuing as now it was well and truly wet. We made our way into Healesville and stopped at the old service station where it was dry.

Someone noticed that the chain on the Across was dangerously loose and needed attention. We decided to abandon the ride due to lots of dark clouds over the Marysville region.  Ninety percent of the group were not overly fussed about going home. That suited me! Rob Jones and his mates were off to the pub. Nigel and Danny were continuing over the Black Spur for a ride in the rain. Bron and myself had a brew, then made our way home via Woori Yallock and Emerald.

Bikes washed and detailed. Then dinner whilst watching a bit of RPM before heading off to work. Thanks to everybody who came.  Shame about the weather.  Hopefully next time it will be better.
