Lavers Hill via the Great Ocean Road  MK II

We all met at the Shell Servo at the beginning of the ride to the fantastic Great Ocean Road/Lavers Hill at 9.00am Sunday morning, bright eyed and bushy tailed. Another pillion, Megan, joined the group, which was great for me, not feeling I was the only one game enough to go.

Riding down the Freeway was boring, but then we got to some twisties which was more like it, much more fun than the straight roads. We did our few drink and eat stops on the way, last stop before the Great Ocean Road rollercoaster was Winchelsea.

Twisting through the varied road conditions, taking in the fabulous views of the treacherous ocean was breathtaking. The ride was a challenge and very enjoyable. We reached Apollo Bay and continued on to Laver's Hill, the road still twisting and turning, coming across a campervan that didn't know the road rules when turning onto a major thoroughfare. But we got through it and up to the top of Laver's Hill. We had lunch then made our way back to the Freeway entrance.

We wished everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year then went our separate ways after what was a memorable day along the Great Ocean Road/Laver's Hill. A memorable ride.
