July 2005 Who’s News

The MSTCV Home Page at www.mstcv.net.au took 462 hits during July (down 140 from last month) and has taken 30,681 since April 1996.  The October to January 07 itinerary will be formulated in the next couple of weeks so any suggestions for ride destinations or volunteer leaders please contact any of the committee members. All suggestions gratefully accepted.

Membership fees are overdue. If you are reading this, then you are financial. The Full membership fee is $40 and Associate membership fee is $20, both due before July 1st. This money is used to help run the Club and pays for the printing of the magazine, itineraries, stationery, postage, hall hire, etc. The Club is a non-profit organisation and relies on your continued support for its existence.

50th Anniversary Party of the MSTCV, 6.30 pm Mrk’s Place, Saturday 19th August.  The night promises to be exciting with door prizes, a slide show and interviews with some old stagers. Mark’s Place will put on a buffet pizza and pasta feed. Drinks are available at bar prices. Tickets are $20 per person and in the first instance are limited to current members and partners. At the time of printing, 34 people have paid. We need 50 to hold the venue, so if you intend to come, transfer $20 (per head) to the Club’s coffers asap.

A new set of tyres kindly donated by Redwing Honda will be raffled on the night, and all attendees will be issued with two tickets as they walk in the door, with the option of purchasing more. Commemorative T-shirts and mugs will be available. All members will receive a free commemorative mug, courtesy of members John Clowes and Eric Makin of Makin Tiles Healesville. Though not riding much with the club these days, we regularly bump into John and Eric on the Reefton Spur rides and clearly they hold the club dear. Should you be in the market for ceramic tiles, please look them up.

Joel Haley: new bike one week, off to Townsville the next – almost. Joel’s riding days with the Club are numbered as he plans to move interstate and pursue work and lifestyle opportunities. He has been a very keen and enthusiastic Club member, literally riding rain, hail or shine. His time riding with the Club, he would probably agree, has been most beneficial, channeling his youthful exuberance in a safe and constructive way. He has about three rides to go by my reckoning. We wish him well in his future endeavours and hope to see him back riding with the Club some time in the future.
