The Club web site at www.melbsportsbike.net.au accumulated 619 hits during December, up 300 on last month. Total visits are 48,677 since April 1996. The counters on the other pages after a month indicate that the 2008 Calendar page received 437 hits and the 2009 Calendar page 255 hits (total 357).

The Club Participant of the Year is based on aggregate points accumulated at 1 point per ride, an extra point for leading or being rear rider, and 1 point per magazine article (maximum 2 per magazine). Attending one or more days of a weekend event scores 3 points for leading, 3 for rear riding duties and 2 points for participating.

The count is for the 2008/9 year ending at the 2009 AGM in May. The count after eight months is Ben Warden (66), Pina Garasi (54), Ron Johnston (49), Ian Payne (45), Paul Southwell (44), Dave Ward (38.5), Misho Zrakic (37), Geoff Jones (32.5) Ken Goederee (21), with Cliff Peters (28).  No movement relatively at all this month though Paul closed right up on Ian. See attached spreadsheet as this completes the two thirds of the year’s count. If there are any omissions or errors, please advise Ben.

Feedback from Rob Jones received via SMS after the Highlands Ride (16th November): “Hey Ben Hur, the Pom (Graeme Tattersall …Ed.) and I super enjoyed the Club ride today. Great leading, good pace, new roads, could not ask for more. I was that motivated I found the can for your bike we talked about today. It’s ready when you are. Thanks for the poo hot ride today.  Rob.”

President Ian Payne has upgraded his Honda CBR to the current model CBR1000. He completed the running-in regulation 1000 km at the Porepunkah Xmas Camp.
