The crazy god of wicked weather decided to put the Club to the test – enough is enough – we were supposed to stay home and do whatever the rest of the world does on a mad Sunday like today.
Hard core? Oh yeah, we’ll see who survives the wind/rain/cold/crap all over the road. First casualty – me – I’d had enough of the cold wind blowing me about that I decide to play it safe and hop on the back of Misho’s `blade and hang on to him. Second casualty – Dave and Bronwyn… not happy, so home for them. Third casualty - at the Berwick petrol station at take off, Paul Southwell - the wind blew his bike over snapping the brake lever; he went home to Dave and Bronwyn’s.
Next casualty – two first time Club riders, Paul Wakeling and Grant Stewart; left before the morning tea break – bit nippy in the leathers I think. No wet weathers.
Next casualty – at Mt Donna Buang – another first time Club rider, Brien Armstrong, had to leave as he was feeling rather cold in wet jeans; pretty good making it this far really and he did leave with a cheerful smile on his face. Rear rider, Mark also left – not sure why.
Next casualty – Dave Chisma – BMW battery failure – don’t know what to say about this one – I thought the Germans got everything right. Speaking of Germans… our man of the moment – Dennis – hard core rider/crash survivor and now leading a ride that was truly very difficult. You did a great job and you’ll be pleased to know that in your honour, Misho “I want more” continued on home via the route you had planned – Chum Creek and Toolangi, but which you had to cut short due to family commitments.
To all of those riders who survived to the end – I commend you – you passed the test… well done!
