Towong Feedback from First Time Rider

I'm Boyd from Tasmania and I was invited on the Club ride to the Snowies by Dave Ward.  Arriving in Melbourne that morning on the boat and riding out to Yarck was quite exciting for me as although I've been riding for over 15 years, it was the first time I'd ridden on the mainland. 

Despite the wet weather on our ride up to Corryong I still really enjoyed the trip, taking in all the sights.  Everyone from the Club was very friendly and welcoming towards me which was really nice.  The riding over the next three days in the dry was simply fantastic; some of the best ever for me on the best roads I have ever experienced. 

It was a real pleasure to ride with such skilled riders and I quickly found people in the group who rode at a pace I felt comfortable running and could stick with.  I did make a couple of errors with the corner marking system (sorry!) but overall I found it pretty easy to fit in with the group and was really impressed with how smoothly things ran for the four days.  I feel so privileged to have been able to do this trip with your Club as the excellent organisation of the routes and roads meant we packed so much more good riding into the days than could ever be possible for a "tourist" like me on my own.  I also had a lot of fun in the evenings getting to know some of you. I made new friends which was really great.

I would like to give a couple of special thankyous: firstly to Dave for inviting me along and making this the best holiday I have had in years!  Secondly to Ben. I am so appreciative of how well you led the trip for us all and taking me up and down the BEST roads I've ever ridden and would never have found on my own! 

Also a huge thankyou goes out to Rob Jones for putting me up for a couple nights back in Melbourne and taking time off work to show me some of your best local riding roads.  Riding the Reefton and Black Spur roads was awesome and something I'd wanted to do for a long time. 

So finally, thankyou to everyone who came along and made this trip such a fantastic experience for me.  I look forward to seeing you all on the Club's next Tassie ride and I'm already counting down the days for the Snowys trip next year.
