Sunday. What to do? Go fishing? Maybe a round of golf? Nah. A ride on a motorcycle sounds like the best idea. Never having done a MSR ride, the route looked good on some roads I’d never been on.

There was a good turnout at Whittlesea so off we set. Never believe what’s on the web; Cliff changed original route because he thought King Parrot Creek Road was closed. That, and a stray bike in the field, saw me and Rick following it when it turned left at Flowerdale. Sorry Rick. Making our way to Highlands, I saw him disappearing into the distance at the left hand turnoff to Seymour. I regroup with the mob at Seymour, and he rejoins us at Woodend.

All day there was testament to the power of the weather event that is La Nina, nowhere more so than at a Road Closed sign. An old farmer told Cliff “you’ll be right on bikes, you can get a car through”. It happened to be a landslip right across the bitumen. Mr Plod was not happy about that, and then Plod was not happy about Bill and Bob (Misho and Co) corner-marking, and then not happy about Eddy being at the tail. He thought he should have been at the front.

As a first timer with MSR, they obviously love their riding. The ride was well planned and executed with plenty of fuel and food stops. Whether it be landing a fish or holing a putt, not an entirely uneventful day.
