MSR  Itinerary                    June 2011

Sunday 5th      Strathbogie Ranges, Euroa                                                              Damir Djikic leading 
10 am Whittlesea

Leg 1: Whittlesea, Flowerdale, Strath Creek, King Parrot Road, Goulburn Valley Highway, Yea for morning tea. (74 km) Leg 2: Back track on the Goulburn Valley Highway to Highlands, Gin Gin, Caveat Terip Terip, Gobur, onto the Maroondah Hwy to Merton. Through the Euroa twisties, right towards Strathbogie and on to Euroa for lunch and fuel. (126 km) Leg 3: Back through Ruffy, Highlands, Yea and over Junction Hill to break up at Kinglake West (120 km). Expect around 320 km for the day.

 

Sunday 12th    Castlemaine Poker Run                                                                         Cliff Peters leading
10 am Whittlesea

                        Poker: 5 stops, 5 cards, best hand wins an MSR subscription (must be a MSR member)

Leg 1: Whittlesea, Flowerdale, Strath Creek, Broadford, Pyalong, Lancefield for morning tea. (117 km)  Leg 2: Burke and Wills Track to Kyneton, Metcalf, Castlemaine for lunch and fuel. (83 km)  Leg 3:  Fryerstown, Vaughan, Guilford, Franklinford, Shepherds Flat, Hepburn Springs, Daylesford, Glenlyon, Spring Hill, Little Hampton, Trentham. (94 km). Leg 4: Trentham, Woodend, Macedon, Hesket, Bolinda, Clarkefield, Bulla. (71 km)  Expect a total of 370 km for the day.

 

Sunday 19th    Balook, Jeeralang North (deep Gippsland)                                       Ben Warden leading

10am Berwick

Ride will not suit inexperienced riders; not recommended for first time Club riders.

Leg 1: Berwick, Jindivick, Old Sale Rd, Moe (118 km)  Leg 2: Moe, Yallourn North, Traralgon, Balook, Churchill (110 km)  Leg 3: Churchill, Jeeralang North, Yinnar, Thorpdale, Childers, Trafalgar, Brandy Creek, Drouin (110 km) Expect a total of 338 km for the day.

 

Sunday 26th    Meredith, Daylesford                                                                         Bill Simpson leading

10am West Gate Shell Servo (outbound)

Ride will suit inexperienced riders, first time Club riders and pillions.

Leg 1: Westgate, Werribee, Anakie, Maude (500 metres of good dirt), Steiglitz and Meredith. (132 km)  Leg 2 Meredith She Oaks, Maude, Lethbridge, Teasdale (1.8 km dirt), Shelford, and Inverleigh. (61 km)  Leg 3: Inverleigh, Teasdale, Bannockburn and a secret location for a cuppa. (24km)  Leg4Bannockburn, Maude, Anakie Junction, Staughton Vale, Werribee Caltex. (80 km)  Expect around 300 km for the day.

 

July 2011

Sunday 3rd    Licola                                                                                                  Damir Djikic leading 
10 am Berwick

Ride will not suit inexperienced riders; not recommended for first time Club riders.

Leg 1: Berwick, Longwarry, Jindivick, Crossover, Old Sale Road to Moe, morning tea. (110 km)  Leg 2: Moe, Yallourn North, Tyers (everyone must get fuel at this point as it is a 210 km return trip). On to Glengarry, Toongabbie, around to Glenmaggie and up to Licola for lunch. Some will take a run up the hill to the end of the bitumen and back. (140 km)  Leg 3: Retrace our tracks from Licola back to Tyers for fuel bypassing Glenmaggie. (70 km) Leg 4: Tyres, Yallourn North, Old Sale Road, Crossover, Jindivick, Longwarry North (100 km) Expect around 420 kms for the day.

 

Thursday 7th  Annual General Meeting and Social Sip combined 
6.30 pm Tower Hotel 
686 Burwood Rd, Hawthorn East (corner Burwood Rd, Camberwell Rd & Albert Street) 

The Committee has booked the "free" private meeting room, conditional on us eating there. So, enjoy a meal followed by the AGM. If you wish to contribute to the workings of the Club, then this is your opportunity. The Committee is always looking for new people with bright ideas to share the responsibility of running our fabulous club. No experience required; just a responsible and caring attitude. The rest can be learnt!
